Patricia Cornock

Patricia Cornock, 69, of Millrace Point, Longwood, Fla., formerly of Lee, died Saturday at home. Born in Pittsfield on April 9, 1932, daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Dunham Hiser, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1950. She married Theodore Cornock in 1951 and moved in 1953 to Lee, where they raised their three children. Mr. Cornock died in 1995. After moving to Titusville, Fla., in 1973, Mrs. Cornock worked at Jess Parish Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years, starting in medical records. Then, as tumor registrar/medical librarian, she was instrumental in establishing and maintaining a Tumor Registry for Brevard County -- one of the first in Florida -- until her retirement. She belonged to the National Cancer Registrars Association and was a founding member of the Titusville chapter of the American Business Women's Association. She was an Episcopalian. She leaves a daughter, Ruth Shively of Lake Mary, Fla.; a son, Dana Cornock of DeLand, Fla.; two brothers, John Hiser of Dalton and Edward Hiser of West Suffield, Conn., and a granddaughter. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dawn Carouthers, who died June 2, 2001. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of BALDWIN-FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, Country Road 46-A in Sanford, Fla. The family is also planning a memorial service in Berkshire County this spring for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Comforter, 595 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714, and American Cancer Society, Canton Avenue, Suite 230, Winter Park, FL 32789.
