Janne Blocker

Janne Blocker, 82, of 26 Summer St. died Friday morning at home. Born in Huntington, Ind., on Aug. 16, 1919, daughter of Earl and Dessie Moore Steele, she graduated from Huntington High School in 1937. She also graduated from Indiana University in 1941 and received a bachelor of science degree in home economics, and a master's degree in education from the University of Michigan in 1958. She taught economics in high schools in Texas and Pennsylvania, and had resided in several other states, including Oklahoma, Ohio, Missouri, Michigan, New York, Florida and Georgia. She moved to Adams in 1998. Her interests were teaching, traveling and crafts. She had visited more than 100 countries and islands. Her husband, Clyde Edward Blocker, whom she married Dec. 25, 1941, died Dec. 15, 1980. She leaves two sons, Vincent M. Blocker of San Diego and David S. Blocker of Beverly; a daughter, Ann Chojnowski of Adams, with whom she made her home, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Blocker was predeceased by a sister, Mary S. Callaway, who died in 1993. A private memorial service for will take place at a later date. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. MA 01247, or through TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
