Michael Gallenberger

Michael J. Gallenberger Sr., 90, of Devon Road died Sunday at home. Born in Kewaunee, Wis., on Sept. 29, 1911, son of Joseph and Pauline Feich Gallenberger, he was a graduate of Menominee High School in Michigan and Laurence College in Appleton, Wis. He was employed as a sales manager for the Banta printing and publishing corporation in Menasha, Wis., retiring in 1974. He moved to Lee in 1978. He was a communicant and active member of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed golfing, working around his yard and reading about history. His 90th birthday was attended by a large group of family and friends. His wife, the former Leone E. Landig, died Jan. 26, 1999. He leaves three sons, Michael J. Gallenberger Jr. of Buffalo Grove, Ill., John R. Gallenberger of Spencerport, N.Y., and Joseph M. Gallenberger of Hendersonville, N.C.; a daughter, Antoinette M. Gallenberger of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; a sister, Viola Bastian of Indiana ; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A son, Peter J. Gallenberger, died July 15, 1991. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visiting hours. Friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary's Church or the Lee Regional Visiting Nurses Association in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
