CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mrs. Patricia V. "Pat" Rech, 75, of Cheshire, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.

Born in Queens, N.Y., on May 9, 1947, the daughter of the late Aldo and Frances Vignali, she graduated from St. Agnes' High School and would go on to earn her master's in education from the State University of New York at Cortland.

Pat was employed by Pittsfield Public Schools, where she worked as a middle school teacher at Reid Middle School until her retirement in 2015. Prior to teaching in Pittsfield, Pat taught in other various local and New York State schools.

Among many things, she enjoyed gardening, decorating for holidays, shopping, baking, reading books, watching her granddaughter Christy play lacrosse, and playing with her grand dog Bauer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pat enjoyed completing puzzles and playing card games with her husband, Bill.
 
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, William E. Rech, whom she married on July 13, 1968. She leaves behind a son, William A. Rech, daughter-in-law Michele Rech, and granddaughter, Christiane Rech.

Patricia was predeceased by both of her parents and several aunts and uncles.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Rech will be Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Pittsfield. A private burial will be held at Flushing Cemetery in New York. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East St., Pittsfield MA 01201.
