I have a special memory of Jimmy up on White Oaks Rd. Myself, my girlfriend Brenda and Jimmy all enjoying the summer weather and dancing outside the car to the song Jack & Diane. R.I. P Jimmy, and thanks for the fun and the laughter.

Jimmy was one of the Walker street kids that we all hung around with growing up. Many a flag football game was played in his yard. He was a good guy who will be missed.

Growing up in the Walker Street / Burnham Street neighborhoods, I remember all the Depaoli families and the central role they and their homes played in the memories of my youth. I remember Jimmy. He had a groovy looking red football jersey and convinced me to get the same at Giants store. He showed up at my house, grinning ear to ear, to show off his even groovier new purple colored "banana" bike. We were the same age and yet he seemed from a less repressed era. I had my first taste of beer at the bus stop in the driveway of the electrical substation when Jimmy showed up one morning with a can in hand. He seemed more knowledgeable about girls and had a freedom of expression that was salty to say the least. A natural athlete, he was always funny, and friendly. Jimmy was a unique individual. My condolences to the Depaoli family and may he rest in peace.
