Mary Blay,69

Mary Louise (Vallieres) Blay 69, of North Adams died January 25, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in North Adams on April 8, 1953 a daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Bessie (Garceau) Vallieres.

Mary attended schools in North Adams including the former Holy Family School and Drury High school. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband Donald Joseph Blay, son Donald J. Blay Jr., daughter Mary Louise Goodermote and three grandchildren Robert E. Goodermote Jr., Tiffany Goodermote and Crystal Goodermote. She also leaves sisters, Dorothy Vallieres, Pauline Longtin, Theresa Verrier, Polly Strange, brothers Arthur Vallieres, Joseph Vallieres, Robert Vallieres, Gerald Vallieres, Thomas Vallieres, John Vallieres, Mark Vallieres and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother Paul Vallieres.

This is really heartbreaking news. Mary was a wonderful, caring, extremely funny woman. My childhood is peppered with memories made better by her presence in them.
