Brian B. Baker, 58

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Mr. Brian B. Baker, 58, of Cheshire, died on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in North Adams on March 11, 1965, a son of the late Franklin and Irene (LaBelle) Baker. He attended schools in Adams.

Brian worked as a truck driver for many local companies until starting his own trucking business which he operated until he was forced to retire due to illness. He then went on to start Fatboy's Dogs with his wife, Tanya which they ran together until 2017 when he retired to his woodworking shop and backyard farm.

He was a longtime member of Boy Scout Troop 38, Adams and had been a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 35 in Adams for many years. He loved traveling with his wife Tanya, all types of music, woodworking, camping, fishing and being all things outdoors. He also loved learning new things, especially how to fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, the former Tanya Nichlen, whom he married on August 11, 2018; two sons, Zachary Baker and his fiancé Samantha OHearn of Tucson, AZ and Christopher Record of Augusta, ME; a daughter, Catherine Record of North Adams and her platonic life partner Ann McKenzie of Adams; his brother, Ronald Baker and his wife Sue of North Adams; two sisters, Cindy Harrington and her husband Marty of Milford, NH and Cathy Gwozdz and her husband Arthur of Westford, VT; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nina Record and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many close friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Alan Baker, his best dog Jack Daniels, and his lifelong friends, Carrie Brown, Andrew Horn and Tara Stefanski.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 17th from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. A party will immediately follow at the Adams Turn Hall on Turners. Ave., Adams. Brian wanted a party to celebrate his life; there will be food, a band, and a cash bar. Anyone and everyone who knew Brian are invited to attend both events to celebrate his life with the family.

Burial will be at a later date.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to the Boy Scout Troop 38, 8 Notch Rd., Adams, MA 01220 or to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St, New York, New York 10016-5337.
