Shirley A. Kordana, 88

ADAMS, Mass. —  Mrs. Shirley A. (Girard) Kordana, 88, of Adams, died Thursday evening, May 18, 2023 at her home.

She was born in North Adams on December 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Valmore and Doris (Hifko) Girard. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the Class of 1952.

Shirley last worked as a data processor in the payroll department at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams until she retired.

She was a communicant of St John Paul II Parish at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and enjoyed taking trips to the casinos.

Her husband, Casimer S. Kordana, whom she married on April 30, 1955, died on January 23, 1990.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen McDonough and her husband Paul, and Laurie Vachereau and her husband David, both of North Adams; five grandchildren, including Matthew Vachereau, John Timoney and his wife Kerri, Lisa McGirt, Justin Timoney and Kasey McDonough; six great grandchildren, including Devon Chadwell, Haven Timoney, Legacy McGirt, Kaitlyn Timoney, Ashleigh Timoney and Hunter McBean; two brothers, Valmore Girard and his wife Barbara, and Glenn Girard and his wife Sandy, both of Clarksburg, as well as several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Wojieck, on March 10, 2022.
