Mae A. Pytko

Mae A. Pytko, 82, of 107 Summer St. died Monday at the Commons of North Adams, where she was admitted in 1995. Born in Adams on May 23, 1919, daughter of Stanislaus F. and Sophia Kogut Bator, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Pytko was employed by the Berkshire Fine Spinning Corp. as a spinner in the No. 3 Mill. She retired in 1949, and became a homemaker. She was an advocate for the Adams for Action Corp. on Summer Street. Her husband, Stanley T. Bator, whom she married June 29, 1946, in St. Thomas Church, died Nov. 25, 1968. She leaves a daughter, Ann Santangelo of Poway, Calif., a sister, Irene Jyzyk of Vernon, Conn., and two grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams, will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. The Liturgy will be preceded by a prayer service Saturday at 9:15 a.m. The family suggests memorial donations to the St. Thomas St. Vincent de Paul Society at P.O. Box 231, Adams, MA 01220.
