Elizabeth Phillips

Elizabeth Phillips, 89, of 4436 Wyoming Ave., Tampa, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Feb. 9 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa. She had resided in Tampa for more than 50 years. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 22, 1912, daughter of Frank and Hazel Ploss White, she graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Phillips was employed by Berkshire Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for many years before her marriage. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsfield and active in the Liwomi chapter of the Women's League at the church. Following her marriage in 1945 to Warrant Officer Norman S. Phillips, the couple lived at various Air Force bases before he was assigned to McDill Field in Tampa. Her husband died in 1986. She leaves a daughter, Susanne W. Jacobson of Tampa, with whom she made her home.
