Frank W. Batchelder, 82

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Frank “PaPa” W. Batchelder, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully on January 30th, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Frank was born on August 9th, 1942 in North Adams, MA. He grew up in Monroe Bridge, MA and later moved to Clarksburg, MA where he lived until he passed.
Frank worked several jobs. Being a carpenter by trade, self employed at Fieldwood Builders, he held various roles at North Adams City Hall, Clarksburg Town Hall, and Canyon Ranch.
Frank was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the company of his loved ones - pets included. He is survived by his wife, Gayle (Cutler), his sister, Lorrie Massari and her husband Peter, as well as his children, Frank Batchelder Jr., Kristin Rondeau and her husband Joseph and Amy Smith and her husband Jeremy. He was a proud and loving grandfather, PaPa, to Krysta, Tyler, Hunter, Abigail, Chandler, and Alyssa, and a great-grandfather to Dominik.
Frank was an avid football, baseball and Nascar fan. When he was young, he even raced his own stock-car. He loved to putter around “PaPa’s Garage” and had a great love for his grand-puppies and bird watching.
Known for his quick wit and resourcefulness, Frank was a firm believer that duct tape could fix anything—a philosophy that served him well in both life’s little repairs and its bigger challenges. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, positivity, unwavering love for family and his ability to find the silver lining in everything. His presence brought warmth to every gathering, and his wisdom and humor left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Frank is predeceased by his mother, Lavenia Mowe, his father, Gordon Batchelder, his step-father, Louis Mowe, and his brother, Gordon “Randy” Batchelder.
Services will be held at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home West Chapels 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
