Robert C. Morrison, 81

POWNAL, Vt. —  Robert Charles Morrison, 81 of Pownal, VT. died Thursday February 6, 2025 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born in Charlemont, MA. on May 5, 1943 a son of the late Howard and Audrey (Pierson) Morrison. Robert graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1961.

He was a dedicated truck driver for A.R. Sandri Inc. in Greenfield, Ma. from 1979 to 2008, Robert also worked for the Galusha Farm and Cricket Creek Farm in Williamstown and Hayden Oil Co. in North Adams, Ma.

Robert and Carol enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking many long trips. He enjoyed being in the outdoors especially on his farm in Pownal where he raised beef and collected, repaired and operated his beloved Bucyrus-Erie cranes.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Carol (Smith) Morrison whom he married October 8, 1966 and two loving sons, Scott Morrison (Candy) and Lee Morrison (Jodi) both of Pownal, VT; four grandchildren Ashley, Brody, Matthew and Andrew Morrison and two great-grandchildren Ava and Cole Chenail. Robert also leaves six brothers Russell Morrison, Lawrence Morrison (Nancy), Wayne Morrison (Clare), Neil Morrison (Dale), Thomas Morrison and Brad (Cathy) Morrison; sister-in-law Maura Morrison and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Ward Morrison and a sister in law, Sharon Morrison. The family would also like to thank the wonderful care he received from his caregivers, Lexy Callicut, Wendy Morse, and Deborah Johnson; also, the nurses on the second floor east at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and Moriah Andrews and Laurie Darby.

Calling Hours will take place on Friday February 21, 2025 at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. rest in peace dear brother in law. We will see you again one day for Sunday motorcycle rides. Maybe there's a Falls Diner to meet at for breakfast, prior to an all day ride.
