Kimberley A. Thomann, 67

ADAMS, Mass. — On Sunday morning March 2nd, heaven gained an Angel. Kimberley Anne Thomann passed away peacefully in her home, at the age of 67. Born on August 15th,1957, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Marjorie (Tavernia) Cole.
With true grit and determination, Kimberley was an incredible woman, mother, mema, sister, daughter, wife, and friend. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart but also loved to help anyone in need. Kimberley was a graduate of Drury High School, Class of 1975. Although she didn’t go to College, she worked tirelessly alongside our Father, typing and editing his papers, on the antique typewriter, and helping him to obtain his BS in Fire Science. Between us rugrats tugging on the power cord, and our Fathers painful attention to detail, Lord knows she earned an honorary Doctorate for that, maybe two.
Our Parents were a true Team and were willing to take on any challenge or sacrifice that would better them and the Family, always showing us what you can achieve when you work hard, and love hard. They worked from the bottom up, together, always remembering where they came from, and passing those values on to us.
Kimberley worked at North Adams Hospital and was also a cook at Drury High School. The majority of her career was spent working on Alzheimer’s Units, as a CNA, for Sweet Brook Nursing Home, and the North Adams Commons. She poured her heart and soul into caring for her patients, doing everything in her power to make sure they never went without. Countless families were fortunate enough to have had our Mother care for their loved ones. It never went unnoticed, and people always went out of their way to thank her for the exceptional care she gave their loved ones on their final journey. She believed deeply in the importance of that very difficult job.
My mother had a contagious laugh, welcoming vibes, and a thirst for living that matched my Father’s. They were a dynamic duo to say the least, and set the standard when it came to upholding those vows, “for better or worse.” Married on August 31st, 1979, in North Adams, MA, they nearly hit the half century mark before my father passed in June of 2022. Losing her partner in crime, and the love of her life, was something she just couldn’t overcome, despite our best efforts. There was simply no Kim without a Mark. A true love story. She loved her grandkids so very much. She was a mother hen and protector to so many of our Friends. Our Parents believed in the power of Community, Neighborhoods, and looking out for all kids, not just their own. Although my mother may have left us too soon, she left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to have crossed her path. We love you Kimberley, and will never forget to live life to the standard you showed us all.
There will be no calling hours or services. Please mail cards for Kim to 105 East Hoosac St. Adams, MA 01220. Any donations will go to “Peak Youth Wrestling Club,” a non-profit youth wrestling club of the Berkshires.
