Claire E. LaCasse, 71

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Claire Emma LaCasse, 71, of 557 Church St. died Sunday morning, March 3, 2002, at North Adams Commons. Born in Pittsfield on April 14, 1930, son of John and Constance Bissaillon Cardinal, she moved with her family to Clarksburg and attended schools there and Drury High School. A homemaker, Mrs. LaCasse was employed by the former F.W. Woolworth's store and the former Boston Store for a short time in her younger years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, where she taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes. She enjoyed doing embroidery, listening to music, birdwatching and gardening. She and her husband, Ernest R. LaCasse, were married Sept. 10, 1949. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Ernest R. LaCasse Jr. of Savoy, and Christopher D. LaCasse Sr. and Michael A. LaCasse, both of North Adams; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Two other sons, Air Force Tech. Sgt. Joseph J. LaCasse and Bruce Allen LaCasse, died March 18, 1989, and in 1952, respectively. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. LaCasse will be Thursday at 8:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. Mass will be at 9 at Notre Dame Church, followed by burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Diabetes Association, both in care of the funeral home.
