Craig "MacGyver" Hamelin, 64

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Mr. Craig F. Hamelin, AKA “MacGyver”, 64, of Cheshire, died on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield.

He was born in Adams on August 24, 1960, son of the late Harvey and Helen (Baribeau) Hamelin. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School.

Mr. Hamelin worked for 32 years for the Berkshire Gas Company in Pittsfield until his retirement in September 2019.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams.

He is survived by his two sons, Scott Hamelin of North Adams and Evan Hamelin of Pownal; two sisters, Ruth Lennon of Savoy and Carol Lawson and her husband Keith of Adams; one grandson, Blake Hamelin and by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Springside Unit C and Hospice Care in the Berkshires for their attention and care given to Craig.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Maple St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours AT THE CHURCH are Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth and Carol im in disbelief of craigs passing as you know we where attached to the hip growing up.We use to climb Mt Greylock all the time not to mention the huge tree fort we built up behind the house in adams. Lota of good memories with him to many to mention here. God bless him and me he be present in the lords kingdom. :)

MacGyver, My AmJam partner. I will cherish those memories. We made it in Outlaw biker after a few attempts of the tire toss. Our pool party will forever bring a smile. You always made me laugh, fly high my friend.
