Douglas E. Randall, 87

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Douglas E. Randall, 87, of Adams, died on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Adams on February 22, 1938, a son of the late Everett and Mary (Lagowski) Randall. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School.

Mr. Randall was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 98, having worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Petricca Construction until his retirement.

His wife, the former Marilyn Tosi, whom he married on June 29, 1968, died on September 8, 2015.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Randall of Adams; his daughter, Cheryl Wellington and her husband Ernie of Windsor; three grandsons, Xavier, Aidan and Wyatt Wellington; his brother-in-law Robert Tosi; his longtime friends, Thomas and Barbara Ayotte and Pat and Stan Wojcik; his grand-dog, Oliver, who always knew where to sit to get a tasty little morsel and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Everett and Robert Randall and by two sisters, Dorothy Toporowski and Frances Luczynski.

Our dad was a very creative and resourceful man who was able to fix, modify, repair or fabricate pretty much anything. He had many inventions and repurposed items for which he found some use with some modifications. He was an avid outdoors man spending a lot of time fishing and hunting often with his dogs. He enjoyed gardening and giving away much of what he grew. He lived a life of hard work but also enjoyed his time puttering around the house and going down the barn to visit the chickens. He will be missed.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 12th at 12:00 NOON in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service in the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891 or to Pop Cares, P.O. Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267.

I am very sorry to learn of Doug Randall’s death I’ve had the opportunity to meet him many times through my dad Dick Aveyard Sr AKA THE DUCK. I remember him being very nice. People like Bobby , Doug and my pop just aren’t around anymore and lessons to be learned were from these great men. I want to say I’m sorry and these men are up in heaven fixing things as they did on earth. They are probably building a stairway to heaven as I write this.
