Cecile Ferris, 87

Cecile L. (Serre) Ferris, 87, of North Adams, MA died on May 7, 2025. She was born in Cheshire, MA on April 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph and Maryanna Yvonne (LeMire) Serre. She attended schools in Cheshire and graduated from Adams Memorial High School. Mrs. Ferris was first employed with Wall Streeter Shoe Company. She also cared for community members working for J.T. Bus Lines and as a hair dresser.
Mrs. Ferris was devoted to her family. She was married to the late Frank Baran for 10 years and raised a daughter Jenny and a son John. After his passing, she married the Late George Louis Ferris and had a son Craig, and together, they raised their three children. A devoted Catholic, Mrs. Ferris was former communicant of Our Lady of Incarnation Church and communicant of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
She was a very active member in the community with membership in the Berkshire County Line Dancers, the Heptones, a ladies’ singing group, and the Lebanese American Social Club. She enjoyed working out with her daughter at Planet Fitness and was an avid puzzle enthusiast.
Survivors include a daughter, Jenny Moulton and her husband, John of North Adams as well as two sons, Craig Ferris and his wife, Elizabeth of Clarksburg and John Baran of North Adams. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Jenna, Jeffrey, Joseph and Jacqueline Moulton, Jesse, Destiny and Trinity Baran, and Luke Ferris, and two great grandchildren, Addy and Pasley. She leaves her sisters, Lucille (Richard) Stroud of Mesa AZ, Mary Jane (John) Palmer of Pittsfield, MA, Alice Brown of Cheshire, MA, Lillian (Don) Seckler of Cheshire, MA, Shirley (Doug) Hough of Bradenton, Florida; and brother, Leon (Kathy) Serre of Adams, MA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Ferris was predeceased by her husband, George Ferris, and sisters Dorothy Jeanette Corbierre and Roma Gaylord.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Cecile L. (Serre) Ferris will be held at 11:30a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Calling hours will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
