Sandra Preite, 80

ADAMS, Mass. —

Sandra F. (Major) Preite, 80, of Adams, died on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in North Adams on June 23, 1945, daughter of the late Francis and Lillian (Dean) Major.

Sandy worked for many years at the North Adams Regional Hospital until retiring. My Mom was my best friend and I will miss her so much. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. Her favorite times were at Kimmys house. She loved being with the family and the dogs Chance, Nala, Khloe, Maggie, Sophie and Otis. Sitting out in the flower gardens brought her such peace and joy. She never missed a good meal. She loved when I cooked for her. I will miss our daily talks, she was my rock and will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberley Ostrobinski who was her caregiver and her husband George of Savoy and Lisa Schmidt of North Adams; four grandchildren, Meghan Ostrobinski and her fiancé Zachary Lambert, Nicholas and Jacob Ostrobinski and Amy Gaetaini and her husband Keith; two great grandchildren, Lily-Mae and K’Lynn as well as her former husband, William Preite.

Per Sandy’s wishes there are no funeral services or burial.

Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd. Pittsfield, MA 01201.

The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, is in charge of arrangements.

Kimmy and Mark sure did love Sandy! I will never forget all of the stories of good times they had together up at the “ol reservoir house”. One in particular involving shrimp. Sending love and hugs to Sandy’s family.

Kim and family, we are so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a sweet lady. Sandy and I were classmates at St. Joe, and we both loved how our girls were such good friends. May she rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to read this. I was just thinking of "Mother" the other day and wondering how she was doing. She was such fun to work with and I hadn't seen her in so long. My condolences to her family.
