Frank Dubis, Jr., 89

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Frank Dubis Jr., 89, of Charlotte N.C., died on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Pavilion Health Center at Brightmore.

He was born in Adams, MA on September 20, 1935, son of the late Frank Dubis, Sr. and Gladys (Uyrus) Dubis. He attended schools in Adams and after graduating went directly into the military. He was stationed at Ft. Baker in Sausalito, California.

Frank and his family were the original owners of the Bounti-Fare restaurant (formally the Midway) for more than 60 years. He loved playing poker and horse racing. He owned several racehorses and would race them at Green Mountain Park racetrack in Pownal, VT. He was a member of the BPOE Adams and Pittsfield Lodge of Elks.

He leaves behind his wife Virginia, whom he married on October 4, 1958; a daughter, Darlene Conroy (Tim) of Waxhaw, N.C.; 3 grandchildren, Sean (Kara), Brianna and Shannon and twin great-granddaughters, Harper and Sloane.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka Preservation Fund, PO Box 328, Adams, MA 01220 or to the Alzheimer’s Association 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.

A calling hour will be on Friday, July 25 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 NOON at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a burial immediately after in Bellevue Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Bounti-Fare restaurant, 200 Howland Ave., Adams.

Virgie - I'm so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I always enjoyed my time at the Bounti Fare with you, Frank & Ivy. It was a long time ago, but you all left fun memories for me. Thinking of you and your family.

It shaped into the strong work ethic I possess now...The Saturday back to back weddings and huge banquets...Looking back not sure how we did it?....
