Barbara A. Barcomb

Barbara Ann (Lambert) Barcomb, 76 of Pownal, VT died on July 22, 2025 at Albany Medical Center. She was born on December 8, 1948 in Cambridge, MA a daughter of the late Kermit Norman U.S.N. WWII & Anna Elizabeth (Gubbins) Lambert.

Barbara attended Mt Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, MA and then went on to attend Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA. Her family lived on the corner of Hoxsey Street and Walden Street in Williamstown, which later became the Williams College’s “Lambert House”. Barbara married the love of her life, Brian M. Barcomb on 2/10/1970 in Lebanon, NY and later got married again at Notre Dame Church in N. Adams, MA. Barbara worked at Hunter Machine in N. Adams until she had her first child.

Barbara took great pride in prioritizing raising her children and being an exceptional homemaker, mother, and wife for 31 years. Once her children were out of school, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and took great pride in caring for her patients. She first worked at Sweet Wood Retirement Center in 2002 and then in 2008 to current she worked At Home TLC in North Adams where she found her favorite job. She really loved both her job and caring for people.

In the 70’s, she practiced yoga and later taught yoga classes at home. She was a very talented artist and loved to paint, sew, make clothing, make braided rugs, and various other crafts. She often sold her crafts at local shops. Barbara loved cats and bird watching, but also loved all animals. She was an avid baker and was very well known for her amazing chocolate chip cookies, whoopee pies, and apple pies. For outdoor activities, she enjoyed swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

leaves her husband, Brian M. Barcomb of Pownal, VT, children: Michelle (Barcomb) & Mark Suchecki of Medford, MA and Brian M. Barcomb II & Brandie Brown of Shaftsbury, VT. She also leaves her grandson Dante M. Suchecki, and step-granddaughters Brianna Merrow and Jasmin Merrow. also leaves her siblings: Robert Lambert of Kennebunk, ME, Norman & Mary-Ellen Lambert of S. Berwick, ME, Elaine & Paul Chamberlin of Springvale, ME, and Eric & Robynne Lambert of Plymouth, MA. She also leaves her nephew Jacob Chamberlin and niece Kimberly Lambert.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Service to celebrate the life of Barbara Barcomb will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 2:30 PM at St’s. Patrick and Raphael Church at 54 Southworth St. in Williamstown, MA. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Berkshire Humane Society 214 Barker Rd Pittsfield, MA 01201, 413-447-7878 www.berkshirehumane.org in lieu of flowers.

My childhood friend in Williamstown. We would walk to the library together. We were in Brownies and Girl Scouts together. We were wild teenagers together. We went to Newport festivals and loved Janis Joplin. I was so sad to hear of her passing. My sincerest condolences to her family and other friends.
