Richard "Skip" Perreault, 81

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Richard W. “Skip” Perreault, 81, of Adams, died on Monday, August 18, 2025, at North Adams Commons.

He was born in Adams on June 22, 1944, a son of the late Wilfred “Pete” Perreault and Margaret (Scrivens) Perreault. He attended schools in Adams and North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School in North Adams.

Mr. Perreault was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Army Military Police until receiving his honorable discharge as corporal on June 21, 1966.

Mr. Perreault last worked as the business manager for the former Getty Oil in New York and Massachusetts until retiring. He had also been a manager for the former K-Mart in North Adams and following his military service had been a police officer for the City of Baltimore, MD.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church North Adams and had been a longtime communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams.

His wife, the former Mary Ellen Meaney, whom he married on November 18, 1972, died on April 7, 2020.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kristen Catelotti and her husband Mario of North Adams and Jennifer Russell and her husband Timothy of North Adams; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Daphne and Ainsley; his sister-in-law, Joyce Perreault and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Perreault.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 25th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams.

Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.

Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Please accept my condolences on your loss. Skip was one of the good guys. He was a classmate of mine and a longtime friend. We've missed him at our class reunions and hoped to see him again. We will one day. Rest in peace, Skip.
