Mary C. Nietupski

Mary C. Nietupski, 54, of 234 County Road died Monday at home. Born in Springfield on Nov. 17, 1947, daughter of Joseph A. Auth and the late Evelyn Freeouf Auth, she was a 1965 graduate of Cathedral High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Newton College of the Sacred Heart in 1969 and a master of business administration degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1982. For the past 20 years, she served as president of Auth Fuels Inc. in East Longmeadow, retiring in January because of ill health. A devoted mother and wife, she enjoyed traveling, gardening and vacationing at the family's home on Nantucket. Besides her father of Wilbraham, she leaves her husband, David V. Nietupski, whom she married May 18, 1972; two sons, Stephen V. Nietupski of New York City and Samuel P. Nietupski of Becket; four brothers, Joseph A. Auth Jr. of Longmeadow, John C. Auth of Amherst, David N. Auth of Greenwich, Conn., and Daniel E. Auth of Arlington, Va., and two sisters, Sara L. Martin of Wilbraham and Eileen C. Auth of Lusby, Md. Services will be Friday, March 8, at 9 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church, Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will be in North Becket Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 7, from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sloan Kettering Institute for Breast Cancer Research in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
