James C. Rodick

James C. Rodick, 47, of 127 Commercial St. died Sunday evening at home after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 14, 1954, son of John and Helen Alden Rodick, he graduated from Union Dale High School in 1971. While in Brooklyn, he was employed as an auxiliary police officer for two years, and worked at various other jobs until moving to Adams in 1977. Mr. Rodick was employed by BMC in Pittsfield in the maintenance department for several years, by Quality Printing for nine years, and by Waverly Fabrics in Adams for a year. He retired in 1990 because of ill health. He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas'. He was a Yankees and Jets fan and enjoyed bowling. He and his wife, the former Carol St. Germain Schwarzer, would have celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary May 30. Besides his wife, he leaves two stepsons, Rory Schwarzer of Quantico, Va., and Todd St. Germain of North Adams; two stepdaughters, Tracy Schwarzer of North Adams and Robin Guyette of Somersworth, N.H.; two brothers, Thomas Rodick of California and John Rodick of Pittsfield; two sisters, Carol Paul of Boca Raton, Fla., and Stephanie McInnes of Pittsfield, and none step-grandchildren. The funeral for James C. Rodick will be Thursday, Feb. 1, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 8.
