Esther Schmidt, 86

ADAMS, Mass. —
Mrs. Esther H. Schmidt, 86, of Adams, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Adams on October 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Monica (Kruzel) Cyrulik. She was educated in Adams schools and proudly graduated with the Adams High School Class of 1957.
Esther had a long and dedicated career, most recently working for General Dynamics in Pittsfield until her retirement. Over the years, she had also worked at the former Sprague Electric, General Electric, Martin Marietta, and Lockheed Martin.
Her faith and community were central to her life. A lifelong communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams, she participated in the St. Stanislaus Vigil from 2009 to 2012 and was deeply proud of the church pew she had dedicated to her parents. Esther also held a special connection to the parish’s history, as her mother Monica’s funeral was the final service celebrated in the church before the start of the St. Stanislaus Vigil. She was also a longtime supporter and member of the Adams Agricultural Fair. She loved to be around flowers.
On October 11, 1958, Esther married the love of her life, Edward A. Schmidt. They shared over 42 wonderful years together before his passing on March 6, 2001.
She leaves behind her daughters, Deb Caron and her husband Jeff of Adams, and Erynn Jacobsen and her husband Dan of Warrington, PA. She was a cherished grandmother (babci) to Mallorey and Madelyn Caron, and Nikki, Danny, and Dillon Jacobsen. She is also survived by her brothers, Francis (Theresa) Cyrulik, Chester Cyrulik, William (Bonnie) Cyrulik all of Adams, and Richard Cyrulik of Savoy; her dearest friend and “partner in crime,” Barbara Bennett; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 3rd at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus School, 108 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220.
The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
