Eleanor Mae Dobbert, 89

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —

Born and raised in North Adams, Eleanor Mae Dobbert built a life rooted in stability, loyalty, and quiet strength. She was the heart of The Dobbert Companies, the family business she founded alongside her husband, Tom. As the company’s longtime bookkeeper, she took immense pride in keeping everything running smoothly and precisely. Eleanor was meticulous, dependable, and deeply committed - traits that shaped not only her work, but also the way she cared for her family.

Eleanor cherished a life of routine and order. She found comfort and joy in the simple rhythms of each day: her home, her family, and the familiar community where she spent her entire life.

Her circle was small but deeply meaningful. She loved her close family members fiercely and was happiest when surrounded by those she held dear. Her honesty, practicality, and unwavering loyalty formed the foundation of her family’s life.

A woman with a playful streak, Eleanor loved to gamble and could often be found bantering with players while playing poker during casino outings. It was one of the joys that brought her laughter and a welcome sense of fun.

She leaves behind her husband, Tom; her son, Mike; her daughter-in-law, Kirby; and the family who loved her endlessly. Though her passing was unexpected, her legacy of steadiness, care, and commitment lives on in the people and the company she helped build.

Eleanor will be remembered for the quiet but powerful impact she had on those closest to her - and for a life lived with constancy, devotion, and love.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Per Eleanor's request, a private graveside service will take place in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. To add to the book of memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com

My extended family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Aunt Eleanor would always have a smile and laugh ready for me and I had the hugs for her. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved and valued.

Uncle Tommy, Cousin Michael and Kirby, we are so sorry to hear of Aunt Eleanor's passing. She was a wonderful woman who was always kind and loving to me as a kid. If it wasn't for her, myself and my siblings wouldn't have had much of a Christmas. She wasn't having any part of that. When I was just getting into computers, she took me to her job at both Williams and Adams Supermarket to show me what she did. Lots of great memories. May she rest in peace.
