Penny Clark, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Penny (Vackas) Clark, 87 of North Adams, MA died Friday November 28, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Penny was born in North Adams, MA on May 4, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Spiro and Helen (Kanelos) Vackas.
Penny is survived by her husband and soul mate, Robert J. Clark. Penny and Bob celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in September after starting their courtship as high school sweethearts. Above all they centered their lives around their family. Penny leaves three devoted daughters including Deborah Clark, Kelly Clark, and Laurie Clark Sheerin.
She is the grandmother of four beloved grandchildren, Jackson Cocozella, Joseph Cocozella, Andrew Sheerin and Sydney Sheerin; two cherished sisters including Christina Simard and Madeline Rousseau. Penny’s love extended to her sons, brothers, and sister-in-law as well as her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased last year by her special aunt, Dolores Kanelos, who was her lifelong close friend.
Penny’s extended family included the great women and men of the Berkshire Country Line Dancers, Elks #457 Lodge Bingo and many others in the community.
Penny loved and was proud to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events often enduring the unpredictable weather at soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and cheering from the bleachers at basketball and hockey games. Other interests included gardening and birdwatching in their backyard with a special affinity for red cardinals, a passion she shared with her husband, Bob.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Penny Clark will be at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA on Thursday, December 4 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 59 Summer Street, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
