Wayne Richardson, 81

CHESHIRE, Mass. —
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wayne Richardson, who passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025.
Wayne was born in Adams, MA, the son of the late Ernest Richardson Sr. and Helen Cote Richardson. He lived a life full of passion and dedication to the things he loved. Wayne’s deep love for his dogs led him to found Aberdeen Kennels, where he bred and raised Show Collies for over 40 years.
In addition to his love for animals, Wayne was also an avid musician. He was the drummer for the rock and roll band, The Checks, during the 1960’s. The band played at the Three Way in New York State and later traveled, performing at the Dial Tone Lounges. His enthusiasm for rock and roll was an important part of his life.
Wayne worked in law enforcement, serving as a police dispatcher at the Hollywood Police Department in Florida. After retiring, he returned to Adams, where he lived out the remainder of his life.
is predeceased by his Father, Ernest Richardson Sr., and mother, Helen Cote Richardson of Adams, MA. He leaves behind his brother, Ernest Richardson Jr. and wife Linda of Bolton, CT; two nieces, Kim Rizy of Middletown, CT and her husband Randy and Jennifer Richardson of Bolton, CT.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his beloved dogs and constant companions, Shelby and Bentley, who were always by his side.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Second Chance Animal Shelter in Arlington, VT.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the folks of the Meals on Wheels program for their assistance in recent years.
Wayne’s sense of humor, love for music and dedication to his dogs will be remembered by all who knew him.
