Margaret Anne Pierpan, 89

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Margaret Anne (Fesenmaier) Pierpan. Lovingly known as Meg, she left this world on January 5, 2026, at the age of 89, after a long illness. Meg was born on June 27, 1936, in New Ulm, MN to Raymond Fesenmaier and Natalia (Dietz) Fesenmaier, where she spent her early years as the youngest of 4, surrounded by the love of her family and the beauty of her American German hometown.
Meg’s educational journey began at Holy Trinity Elementary and High School in New Ulm. She went on to graduate from the College of St. Catherine in St Paul MN, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Children’s Literature. She embarked on her teaching career in Ely MN followed by other locations in Minnesota.
Her adventurous spirit led her to employment by the US Department of Defense as an elementary school teacher. She was assigned to an elementary school on Mansfield Kaserne in Straubing, West Germany. It was here that she met the love of her life, Henry Pierpan, who was a US Army officer stationed on the base.
On June 22, 1963 they were married, the date of which was her parents wedding anniversary. Their marriage blossomed into a beautiful family shepherded by a loving and devoted wife and Mother. Meg raised 4 beautiful children with the same kindness and dedication as she showed in her teaching. Beside her husband, Henry, she leaves Maria Wadsworth (Donald Carlson) of Williamstown, MA; Dr. Henry J Pierpan III DDS (Dr. Monica Pierpan, DDS) of Wilmington, NC; Anna Pierpan C.N.M., M.S.N (Cary Tatro) of Rio Rancho, NM; and Sara Urrutia (Kevin) of Ashburn, VA. Her grandchildren, who Meg loved deeply, are Katherine Wadsworth (Dylan Parmenter), Kristina Mazzeo (Anthony), Ryan Wadsworth (Beth), Reid Pierpan, Landon Pierpan and Luca Pierpan Tatro. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren who brought so much delight to her, Lillian and Lincoln Parmenter and Maeve Mazzeo. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Agnes Moriarty, and 2 brothers, Raymond Fesenmaier and James Fesenmaier, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
While raising her children, her teaching career became one of being a substitute teacher in North Adams, Williamstown and Mt. Greylock schools. Meg was very active in her church, Sts. Patrick and Raphael as Eucharistic Minister, taught CCD for 19 years, a member of the Flower Committee, Ladies Guild and Bell Choir as well as the annual Tag sale. She was also the recipient of the Pius X award. Meg was also a devoted member of the Mass Citizens for Life and a strong believer of Right to Life. In addition she was a volunteer at the Williamstown Elementary Library and a 30 year volunteer at the Williamstown Public Library.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Williamstown Food Pantry at Sts. Patrick and Raphael Parish, 54 Southworth St. Williamstown, MA 01267.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Margaret Pierpan will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. Patrick and Raphael Parish in Williamstown at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4-6:30 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home –WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA.
