Bernard Francis Baker Jr.

Bernard Francis Baker Jr, 68, of Pownal, VT, died Tuesday January 13, 2026 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in North Adams on June 21, 1957, a son of the late Bernard Francis Baker Sr. and Lauretta J. (LaPine) Baker.

Bake attended local schools in Williamstown including Mt. Greylock Regional High School. He worked for Cornish Wire Co and mainly as a Logger throughout the area, Berkshires, New York, and Vermont with his brother Christopher. He also assisted Tom Bernier with several projects. He was last employed for Connors Brothers Moving Company in Williamstown.

Bake enjoyed hunting, fishing, his pet cats and dogs, and coaching his granddaughter’s softball team. He also played softball for Chick’s and Bernardy’s softball team. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Bake leaves behind his wife Deborah (Hall) Baker of Pownal, VT, children Bernard F. Baker III (Cristina), Shane C. Baker (Nicole), William B. Baker, all of Pownal, Vt, and Susan Carr of Westfield, MA. He also leaves behind siblings Gregory Baker (Paula) of Adams, MA, Christopher Baker (Kim) of Pownal, VT, Kimberly Galli of Williamstown, Paulette Huls (Scott) of Williamstown, Wendy Sherman (Bruce) of North Adams, 11 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Bernard Baker Jr. will take place Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Flynn Dagnoli Funeral Homes- WEST CHAPELS- 521 West Main St, North Adams, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to PopCares or 2nd Chance Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. Calling hours will take place the same day from 9 to 11 AM.
