Theresa A. Smachetti, 68

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Theresa A. (Roy) Smachetti, 68, of Adams, died on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Adams on January 1, 1958, daughter of the late Maurice and Anna (Saldo) Roy. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School with the class of 1975.

Terry last worked as a pharmacy technician for Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and North Adams Regional Hospital before her retirement. Earlier she had worked for Rite-Aid Pharmacy in Adams and for the former South Adams Savings Bank.

She is survived by her son Michael Smachetti (Angela) of Adams and Jenna Smachetti (Michael) of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Matthew Vereen and Mykelti Smachetti and by her former husband, Anthony Smachetti.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Maurice Roy who died in 1992. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who helped take care of Terry for the last several years.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to Pop Cares, P.O. Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267.

Jenna, Mike, Tony, I am so sorry. I love the memories of Terry before her stroke. I have not been a good friend, I should have visited. But I was a coward. Her snarky humor, sarcastic remarks, her laugh were gone. She is at peace now. She fought the fight. Sharon

Very sad to hear of Terries passing. Had many interactions with her at South Adams Savings Bank and worked with her at BMC. Her late brother Moe was a great friend and I worked with him and his dad at APW. Spent lots of times playing pitch with the whole family. RIP Terrie.
