Stephen Edward Jones, Sr., 75

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Stephen Edward Jones, Sr., 75, of North Adams, MA, died Friday, February 6, 2026. He was born in North Adams on July 14, 1950, a son of the late Raymond Locke Jones and Margaret (Sweet) Jones. Stephen attended local schools in Williamstown and graduated in 1969 from Mount Greylock Regional High School.

Stephen worked for Crane Co. and was last employed as a Fireman at Williams College in the Facilities department. He enjoyed cooking, working on his home, four wheeling, and dancing. He was the Mayor of the North Adams McDonald’s.

He was survived by his loving children, Wendy Jones (Jeffrey Bryant) and Stephen Jones, Jr., both of Williamstown; a granddaughter, Arianna Gregory of Pittsfield; former wife, Kimberly Galli; sister, Ruth Lampenfield of Pennsylvania; and nieces and nephews. Stephen was predeceased by family members including David Jones, Tom Jones, Raymond Jones, Walter Jones, Dorothy Keeler, Mary Rathburn, Marge Bouchillon, Texanna Scherer, and Barbara Parisi.

I will always remember Stephan with laughter and styles. If he didn’t have a joke for you every time you saw him. We’re just sharing a cup of coffee. He was definitely a light of happiness in this world. God bless.

I am saddened to read about Stephen’s passing. I was in junior high when he played right tackle on the best foosball team that Mt. Greylock ever fielded. He was outstanding blocking for Dick Cummings, who was perhaps the greatest football player in school history. Stephen was a good guy. U.S. younger guys would look up to him. RIP
