SandraLee M. Hamel, 83

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — SandraLee M. Hamel, 83, of Saint Augustine, Fla, formerly of Williamstown, passed away on March 11, surrounded by her family.
Sandi was born on Sept. 30, 1942, to Mary Johnson and Stephen McNicol in Hartford, Conn. She was raised by her grandparents, Elizabeth and Stephen McNicol, and grew up in Williamstown.
In 1962, Sandi married the love of her life, Kevin Hamel, on September 29, at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Together, they built a beautiful life and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this coming September.
Sandi, affectionately known as Nalla to her family, found great fulfillment in caring for others.
Alongside her dedication to her family, she spent thirty years nurturing and supporting students as the school nurse at Williamstown Elementary, and after retiring, she continued supporting guests at Jiminy Peak.
Sandi will be remembered by her family as the person who made delicious food, who took her grandchildren on adventures without telling their mother, who had a salty wit, and who enjoyed getting into mischief with her husband, Kevin, and her best friend, Maxine.
More than anything, Sandi loved her family and friends. She cherished every moment spent together and found her greatest happiness surrounded by those she loved.
Sandi is survived by her daughters, Michele Connell (Paul Connell) and Elizabeth Robinson (Daniel Robinson); her granddaughters, Kathleen Connell and Alexandra Connell (Clayton Johansen); along with many extended family members and loved ones whose lives she deeply touched.
At Sandi's request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of her favorite non-profits.
Sandi's love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
