Patricia Licht, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Patricia Alice (DeRose) Licht, 90, of North Adams, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 at North Adams Commons.

A daughter of Orville Clarence DeRose and Margaret Elizabeth (Cox) DeRose, she was born on July 8, 1935, in New Scotland, NY. Patricia attended schools in Great Barrington, MA and graduated from Searles High School with the Class of 1953.

She was last employed with K-Mart in Memphis, TN and Charlotte, NC as a manager. On October 15, 1977, Patricia married Kenneth Bradley Licht. After retiring, she came to North Adams and worked as a greeter in the “Foster Grandparent” program at Brayton School. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of North Adams, where she sang in the choir and was devoted to the women’s fellowship group. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and singing.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Bradley Licht, who died in June 2006. She will be missed by her daughter, Linda J. (Craig) Hurlbut of Clarksburg; a son, Bruce Allen (Maria) Moulthrop of Niantic, CT; three stepchildren, Bradley (Susan) Licht of Ashley Falls, MA, Brian (Christy) Licht of Mardela Springs, MD, and Judith Licht of Clarksburg, MA; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Norman DeRose of Spruce Pine, NC; a sister, Nancy Mooney of Wayland, MA; a sister-in-law, Suzanne DeRose; nieces and nephews; and her longtime friends and travelling companions, Anna Hurlbut and Lois Hescock. Patricia is predeceased by her stepdaughter, Wendy Licht and her brother Kenneth DeRose. ’s family would like to thank HospiceCare in the Berkshires and the staff and nurses of North Adams Commons for their care and support.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate the life of Patricia Licht will be held Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of North Adams, 134 Main St. North Adams, MA Calling hours at the church will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
