Katherine Schnopp

Katherine "Pat" Schnopp, 77, of 629 Hancock Road died Sunday morning at home. Born in Pittsfield on April 1, 1923, daughter of Jacob and Edith Harrington Zahn, she attended local schools. During World War II, she was employed by GE. After her marriage, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Schnopp was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. She and her husband, Joseph M. Schnopp, were married June 29, 1946, at St. Joseph's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Michael Schnopp of Clarksburg, and James Schnopp, Ronald Schnopp and Timothy Schnopp, all of Pittsfield; three daughters, Susan K. O'Brien, with whom she made her home, Donna Schnopp of Pittsfield and JoAnn Stevens of Vero Beach, Fla.; a sister, Madeline Emerson of Peru; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Jan. 30, at the funeral home from 4 to 7. Mrs. Schnopp was predeceased by a granddaughter, Darylann, two brothers William and Francis Zahn, both of Pittsfield, and two sisters, Gertrude Krieger and Edith Heath, both of Pittsfield. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire VNA or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
