Carlo P. Domenichini, 108

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Carlo Peter Domenichini, 108, of North Adams, MA died on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the North Adams Commons.

Born in Athol, MA on April 20, 1918, he was the son of Giuseppe Domenichini and Maria (Bedini) Domenichini. He attended schools in Readsboro, VT and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1937. Carlo graduated from the University of Vermont in 1941.

He entered the US Army as an enlisted man in 1941 and then was sent to officer's training school where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. He was discharged as a 1st Lt in 1946 after serving in the Philippines. While in the Army, he attended Harvard – MIT Radar School and Westinghouse Radar School, leading him to man his own radar station north of Manila for over a year.

In Lynn, MA, on July 6, 1946, he married the late Mary Ann (Ferretti) Domenichini, who died in 2003.

Carlo was an electrical engineer with Raytheon Corp for over 40 years in its microwave and antenna for radar division, helping to develop the first microwave ovens. After managing the microwave and antenna department for years, he retired as a member of its technical staff in 1986. Carlo was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Fitzgerald of Maine, and one son, Dennis C. Domenichini of Boston, MA. He also leaves nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, including Andrea Justice of Northbridge and Diana Domenichini of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister including Alice Modena, Orlando Domenichini, and Clifford Domenichini.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Carlo Domenichini will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday June 20, 2026. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams with military honors. A calling hour at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA will be Saturday morning June 20th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
