Robert C. Duverney, 71

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Duverney on Saturday July 11th at Baystate Medical Center at the age of 71 surrounded by his family. Bob was born to William and Catherine (Kline) Duverney on June 22, 1955. Bob spent his life in North Adams attending local schools.

Professionally he obtained his commercial driver’s license and drove for various companies. His job brought him great satisfaction due to the experiences and people he encountered, many of whom remained close to him. Bob's interests included camping, playing cards with friends and supporting his daughters and granddaughter’s softball games. He was a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 47 years Cathy (Cole) Duverney, and their three children. Katie Duverney (David), Karen Duverney (Timothy) and Kevin Duverney (Katie). Also surviving Bob are his beloved granddaughters, Jalyn Olmedo and Alana Olmedo and a sweet bonus granddaughter Serenity. His sister-in-law Mary Paree, a niece Kristine Paree and three nephews, Shawn Paree, Jason Wandrei and Mike Wandrei.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers Raymond Paree, William Duverney and his sister Debbie Wandrei.

Bob’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at North Adams Renal Dialysis for taking such wonderful care of him while he was with you.

A celebration of life will be held for Bob at the Greylock Community Club Pavillion on State Rd in North Adams on July 31st from 4-8, friends and family are invited to attend. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com

My condolences to the family. I remember Bob and Cathy growing up camping at Rivers Edge on Lake Champlain back in the 70’s and 80’s. Great camping and fishing memories with the Duverney’s, Cole’s, Fortini’s, O’Neil’s, Poirot’s and Demo’s.
