David Louis Rowett, 75

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  David Louis Rowett, 75, of North Adams, MA. died Monday August 10, 2026, at North Adams Commons.

He was born in North Adams on December 21, 1950, in North Adams a son of the late Reginald “Reggie” Rowett Jr. and Marie “Dolly” (Poirot) Rowett. David attended school on Florida Mountain and graduated from McCann High School in North Adams.

David was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was employed first as an Auto Mechanic and then worked for several years at the Deerfield Specialty Paper Company; he was last employed for the Hoosac Water Quality District for the Town of Williamstown for 25 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing through the area, yardwork, snow blowing, and trips to the dump.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen (Brayman) Rowett, son Matthew Rowett and his wife Hannah of North Adams, grandson Ryder Rowett and his soon to be granddaughter Rhaeya Rowett. He also leaves his sister Karen Cooper and her husband Bruce and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his nephew Charles Cooper.

The family would like to thank the staff at North Adams Commons for care and love that they provided to David.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. My condolences to his family and friends. Me my daughter and him had a lot of great time at the Rendezvous together. He was a great guy and a lot of fun. I will miss him. Rest in peace Ba Boom.
