Henry Glucksman

Henry Louis Glucksman, 81, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Stockbridge, died Wednesday at Englewood (Fla.) Community Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 5, 1921, son of Simon and Phoebe Klewansky Glucksman, he was a 39-year resident of Stockbridge. He had wintered in Englewood for 11 years before moving there in 2000. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Merchant Marines as a marine engineer from 1940 until 1948, retiring as a lieutenant. Mr. Glucksman owned and operated the former Homestead Inn on Sergeant Street from 1948 until 1967. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Marilyn R. Glucksman; a daughter, Susan Pevzner of Great Barrington; a son, William Glucksman of Sunderland, and five grandchildren.
