Denise A. Krutiak, 70

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —

Mrs. Denise Alice (Pisano) Krutiak, 70, of North Adams, passed away on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with lung disease.

She was born in North Adams on July 15, 1956, a daughter of the late Dominic and Helen (Halstom) Pisano and stepdaughter of the late Carol (Marsh) Pisano. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from C.H. McCann Technical High School.

Denise enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, gardening, and taking scenic drives with her husband. She loved being near the water, swimming in the ocean or in lakes, and wintering at North Myrtle Beach. She loved spending time with her family most of all and had a joyful, generous, and compassionate heart.

Denise worked as a paraprofessional for the North Adams Public Schools for many years and later worked at the Clarksburg Elementary School. She had also worked at the North Adams Commons and the former J. Zepka & Sons Florists in Adams.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Adams, where she served as a Deacon and participated in many church activities. She also volunteered at the Al Nelson Food Pantry in North Adams.

You probably remember Denise if you’ve ever shopped at Walmart or Big Y. I’m sure she ran into you at one time or another. She greeted everyone with her bright smile because she was truly happy to see you. Denise was deeply and naturally kind and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Philip Krutiak, whom she married on February 17, 2001; her beloved daughters, Sheri Kelly and her husband Drew of Williamstown and Katie McKay and her spouse Jason Duteau of North Adams; her loved stepsons Eric Krutiak and his wife Julie of Savoy, and Todd Krutiak and his wife Susan of Savoy; one cherished brother, Tony Pisano of North Adams, four much-loved sisters - Jo Ann Ryckman of North Adams, Susan Wood and her husband Randy of Clarksburg, Kathleen LaCasse and her husband Chris of Adams, and Lisa-Marie Pisano of North Adams; her adored grandchildren Elizabeth Kelly, Two Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Tyler Krutiak and his husband Roberto Valverde, Jay Krutiak and his wife Chelsea, and Chelsea Krutiak; precious great grandchildren Justin Krutiak and Riley Krutiak; her dear sisters-in-law Dianne Weatherwalks of Florida, MA and Leila Vallieres of Cheshire; her beloved dog Boojea, and many loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved dogs, who brought her so much joy, Rascal and Pisan.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 19th at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of North Adams. Rev. David Anderson, Pastor, will officiate. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, from 9:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM, IN THE CHURCH. Burial will be private.
