Jeanette Sherman, 85

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Jeanette Rose (Masson) Sherman, age 85 of Clarksburg, MA, passed away on August 14, 2026 at North Adams Regional Hospital.
She was born in North Adams, MA, on April 27, 1941, a daughter of Gilbert and Pauline (Critelli) Masson. She graduated from Drury High School in 1959.
Jeanette was last employed at The North Adams Transcript, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She had a warm, friendly nature and an adventurous spirit that was reflected in her love of travel. She especially treasured the time spent with her husband and family wintering in Florida, and vacationing in Maine, Disney World and exploring the beauty of the Caribbean.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Arthur “Yogi” Sherman, who passed away on December 17, 2014. They were married on March 25, 1961, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Aruba.
Survivors include two sons, David (Reneé) Sherman of Clarksburg, and Stephen (Kristy) Sherman of North Adams; and one daughter, Deborah LaPine of Ringgold, GA. She also leaves five grandchildren: Michelle Dale, Dave Sherman, Scott Sherman, Paige Le, and Ben Thomas; five great-grandchildren: Ava, Isabella, Brantley, Caden, and Kinsey. She also leaves her sister, Jane Kenyon of North Adams; her brother, Raymond (Sharon) Masson of Seffner, FL and nieces and nephews. Her son-in-law, Mark LaPine, passed away July 24, 2026 and her sister, Lorraine Lee is also deceased.
Jeanette’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she poured her love and energy into creating memories that will be forever treasured.
The family would like to thank her longtime caregivers, Kathy McLain, and Chelsea and Dianne Brazeau, for their loving care and friendship. We would also like to thank the staff at NARH 2 North Medical/Surgical Unit for their compassion and care of Jeanette and her family.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Jeanette Sherman will be Wednesday August 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
