Carol (Sturtevant) Andrews, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Carol May (Sturtevant) Andrews, 85 of North Adams, MA died Sunday August 16, 2026, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in Adams, MA on November 9, 1940, a daughter of Walter E. Sturtevant and Eleanor (Maynard) Sturtevant. She graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School. Carol worked at Sprague Electric Co. and the Savoy Post Office.

She was a homemaker, deeply devoted to her family and passionate about exploring her ancestry. Carol enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafting, and cooking, and she was always happy to share her skills with anyone interested in learning. She loved conversation, had a wide circle of friends, and was known for her sharp mind, quick wit, and warm sense of humor. Even in challenging times, she faced life with a smile. She consistently put others before herself and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

She leaves behind her son, Christopher Andrews of North Adams and her daughter, Heidi Deane and her husband, Steve of North Adams, her beloved granddaughter, Cierra Yorke and her husband, Matt of Enfield, CT, step grandson Steve A. Deane and his wife, Amanda of Tennessee. She also leaves her sister, Jean Miller and her husband, Dave of Maryland; brother, Roy Sturtevant and his wife, Donna of Savoy, MA; sister, Sharon Rice and her husband Joe of the state of Florida; and sister, Linda Hover and her husband, Steve of Savoy, MA. She was much loved by many nieces and nephews and her best friends, Joanne Greenspun, Patricia Richards, and Monica Duprey. She was predeceased by her step grandson, Matthew Deane, her infant brother, and her sister, Judy Sturtevant.
