Edward Laurin LaCosse Sr, 60

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Edward Laurin LaCosse Sr., 60, of North Adams, died at his home on Monday, August 24, 2026. He was born in Pittsfield on August 28, 1965, the son of Richard Joseph LaCosse Sr. and Annora (Ferry) Kingston.

Edward attended schools in Pittsfield and Dalton. He worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for County Ambulance and also worked as a taxi driver for several years throughout Berkshire County.

Edward was an active member of the North Adams Elks and a former Exalted Ruler. He volunteered and was a board member at the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition and was a former member of the North Adams Auxiliary Police. He was generous with his time and was always willing to help anyone in need. Edward also enjoyed bringing joy to others, including playing the role of Santa Claus for the children of the community and at the Fall Foliage Parade. He assisted in organizing and operating in security of the running of the haunted house on Main Street. He was a member of the Brayton Hill Action Committee and was committed to serving and helping his community.

Edward leaves his father, Richard Joseph LaCosse Sr. and his wife, Joan, of Holyoke; his beloved wife, Gail Ann (Tarczynski) LaCosse, whom he married on October 3, 2013; and his daughters, Susan Albano and Erica Robillard and her husband, Jeffrey, of Adams. Two sons, Edward L. LaCosse Jr (Samantha) of North Adams and John Michael Richard of Readsboro, Vt. He also leaves nine grandchildren, four stepchildren, and four step-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters, Terry (Pat) Warner, Deborah Grandbois and Lisa Swanson; and his brothers, Kenneth LaCosse (Julie), Craig LaCosse (Cha), Richard W. LaCosse (Laura), and Darren Civello (Penny).

Edward was predeceased by his siblings, Jamie Hartwig, Eileen Fiore, and Richard LaCosse. He is also predeceased by his grandchildren, Ensley LaCosse and Kane Robillard.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Edward LaCosse will be held at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes – WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA 01247 on Thursday September 3, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM. North Adams Elks Lodge #487 will be providing a ritual service at 5:30 PM. Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home. Wow. Sometimes the universe just reaches out ... ... I was just on the computer and stumbled across this announcement. Gail, you have my deepest condolences. I send you much love and many hugs and tears. I understand your loss so well. Be patient with yourself for as long as it takes you to grieve & miss such a big part of you, your life and your family. It is truly a day to day thing. There is no time limit on it. Cheryl, and all the rest of the family, please accept my sorrow at your loss also.
