NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  

Nancy Jean (Kornn) Timoney Gyurasz, 94, of North Adams, died on September 8, 2026, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care in Pittsfield. She was born in North Adams on March 23, 1932, the daughter of Jane (Kateley) and Henry Kornn.

Nancy attended public schools in North Adams before graduating from Lee High School. She continued her education at St. Luke’s Nursing School, where she earned her RN. Nancy was a skilled and caring nurse at North Adams Hospital for many years.

Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She leaves her son, Walter, and her three grandchildren, John (Kerri), Lisa, and Justin (Sarah), as well as five great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Alfred Timoney, who died on April 11, 1978, and by her second husband, Edward Gyurasz, who died in 2002.

Nancy enjoyed her retirement years living in Naples, Florida, with her second husband and loved spending time with others, especially her family. She also continued to share her lifelong love of ceramics through teaching and mentoring.

Nancy will be remembered for her caring nature, her dedication to nursing, her love of family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
