Brian T. Hughes, 27

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —

Brian Thomas Hughes, 27, chose to be with GOD and find peace on October 1, 2025.

Brian Thomas Hughes was born on February 10,1998 at 9:27am, at Newport Hospital in Rhode Island. He graduated from North Kingstown, RI High School in 2016 and continued his education, beginning at the University of Rhode Island and completing his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with high honors at the University of North Carolina in 2020. He was employed as an electrical engineer at Siemens Technology, North Carolina for 5 years.

Brian's life was rich with meaning to all who knew him, filled with the kind of love that transcends time. His spirit was truly infectious, and his presence brightened any room he walked into, bringing joy to everyone around him. Naturally charismatic and full of boundless energy, Brian had a smile that lit up any room he entered.

Brian had a profound love for others and animals. Whether a Family member, Friend, Co-Worker or someone he newly met; Brian had a way of making everyone he met feel loved, valued, appreciated and seen. Brian was selfless and put others above himself.

In High School Brian worked at an Animal Shelter in North Kingstown, RI. He also very much loved all our family dogs growing up, his ferrets and his rescue dog Buster. Brian had a lifetime passion for Martial Arts; Isshin-Ryu Karate and Brazilian Jujutsu. He had trained in karate 3 times a week with his mother Deborah and his older brother Brett, from the ages of 3-9. Brian also continued training in Jujutsu as an adult, as his mother also did. Brian had a deep love of the ocean, visiting it often in RI & NC. Brian had a lifetime passion for geology and love of geodes in particular; since the first geode kit his mother bought him at age 10. He carried this passion and collection of geodes for the remainder of his life.

Growing up, Brian, like his brother Brett, helped his mother plant perennial flower gardens, wherever the family lived as being a son in a 20-year Military Family; leaving a legacy of floral beauty all over this world.

Brian was charismatic, quick-witted, intelligent and endlessly funny. He had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and making others feel welcomed and loved. His spirit will live on in every sunrise & sunset, every wind that blows, every moon, every star in the sky, every day & night sky, every cloud, every snowflake, every raindrop, every waterfall, every ocean, every bird and the all-encompassing beauty in this world.

Brian was brought up knowing the love for him, of Jesus Christ by his mother, who took him to church every Sunday, prayed with him each night, and who continued to let Brian know that Jesus loved him and was always with him, each time they spoke on the phone; well into Brian's adulthood up to the last phone call they shared, on September 18, 2025, 13 days prior to Brian's passing. Brian was always told and knew how much his mother loved him & how she was and always would be there for him 24/7. Their mother & son bond was deep, unbreakable and cherished for Brian's entire life by them both.

Brian leaves behind his mother, Deborah Cadran, Brother Brett Hughes (Ashna), an Uncle ,Mark Cadran, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, Great Cousins, nieces and countless friends, co-workers, acquaintances and strangers, whose lives were made brighter because of knowing him. Brian’s Love, Spirit & Memories will forever live on in our Hearts & Minds.

My boyfriend, Austin, was one of Brian's close friends and he introduced me to him when we first met. I immediately gravitated towards Brian, as he was very welcoming to me. He was extremely outgoing, down to earth, personable, and would do anything for his friends and loved ones. i am struggling to understand how such a wonderful soul left us so suddenly and devastatingly. But I know for a fact that he was loved and that he will always be in our hearts. Sending my deepest condolences and thoughts to the Hughes family.

I was good friends with Brian when he lived in Rhode Island. Met him in 3rd grade and was with him for many good times over the years. I also ended up moving to NC where we would reconnect for a weekend. I love and miss Brian deeply and sending condolences to his family.

Brian is one of my best friends and unlike any other. We met in 2016 in Rhode Island, and instantly got along with one another. Shortly after meeting, Brian started teaching me how to lift weights at his sister's house in Exeter. He had a bare-bones, heavy-duty weightlifting rack and barbell set up in the basement. Though the basement is beside the point, Brian would have just as well set up in the barn next to the horses with no complaints.
Working out with Brian was humbling, to say the least. But he was there to teach, answer questions, and push me to my full potential. After several months of working out with Brian and eating as much food as I could stomach, per his instruction, i was snapped into shape. That was the beginning of our friendship.
Brian was intelligent, kind, and strong. He had a can-do attitude and I was proud to call him a friend. From getting to know him, I learned that he loved and appreciated his family.
I love Brian like my own brother. I'm beside myself.

Brian and I became friends in 5th grade. We stayed friends through our teenage years and all the way through adult hood. We would always find a way to reconnect when life got busy and Brian moved to North Carolina. When he would come back to Rhode Island, myself and a bunch of guys would always get together sharing stories and laughs. I will always cherish the times I shared with Brian. My condolences go out to Brian's Family. I'll miss you dearly buddy.
