George A. Parrino, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  George Anthony Parrino, 90, of North Adams, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

George was born in North Adams on September 26, 1936, the son of George and Irma Parrino. He grew up in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. He proudly served in the National Guard.

George began his career as an engraver at Excelsior Process and Engraving in 1956, where he worked until his retirement in 1998 after more than 40 years of dedicated service.

George was married to the love of his life, Anna Parrino, for 67 years. Together, they raised two children, Lori and Michael, and built a life centered around family, laughter, and traditions.

He took great pride in being a grandfather to Kacie, Cameron, and Tanner and a great-grandfather to Brooke, Emmalie, Camden, Weston, and Olivia, who lovingly knew him as “Noni.”

Anyone who knew George knew he loved to tell a good joke—even if you had heard it before. Sometimes he would forget the punch line, leaving Anna to finish it for him, which often brought even more laughter.

George made holidays special in his own way. Easter meant his famous egg hunts, with more than 100 eggs hidden for the family. At Christmas, you could always count on seeing him in his red-and-white striped apron, and the grandchildren never quite knew what unexpected or silly gift they might unwrap.

An avid sports fan, George had a special love for the Boston Red Sox. He also especially loved watching his grandsons play sports and had coached his son Michael in Little League years earlier.

George treasured all of the friendships he made throughout his life. He especially valued his steadfast friends from work and, of course, his close circle of friends affectionately known as the “Geezers.” The friendships, laughter, and memories they shared meant so much to him.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Parrino; his children, Lori Parrino and her partner, Mark, and Michael Parrino and his wife, Karen; his grandchildren, Kacie Wood and her husband, Michael, Cameron Parrino and his wife, Caitlin, and Tanner Parrino; and his great-grandchildren, Brooke, Emmalie, Camden, Weston, and Olivia.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Irma Parrino.

George will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of sports, the traditions he created, and the many simple moments that became treasured memories. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, MA 01247. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 11:00 AM, with burial afterward at Southview Cemetery in North Adams.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to PopCares, P.O. Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com
