Bernadette Kupiec

Bernadette Irene Kupiec, 86, of Browning Road, Lithia, Fla., a former resident of Adams and Cheshire, died Friday at home. Born in Lake Elmo, Minn., on Dec. 13, 1915, daughter of Charles and Bertha Hewitt Guild, she attended schools in Cheshire and Adams. She moved to Florida in 1972. Mrs. Kupiec was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Adams and of the Order of Eastern Star, Lindsey Chapter 152, in Brandon, Fla. Her husband, Benjamin J. Kupiec Sr., whom she married Oct. 27, 1933, died July 7, 1976. She leaves two sons, Ronald B. Kupiec of Pittsfield and Benjamin J. Kupiec Jr. of North Adams; three daughters, Nancy M. Levesque of Adams, Elaine M. Bush of Greenfield, Ind., and another in Florida who requested that her name be omitted from the obituary; two sisters, Dorothy Duprey and Phyllis Haring, both of Adams; a brother, Gordon Guild of Bradenton, Fla.; a half-brother, Lawrence Vosburg of Rhode Island; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Another son, Larry C. Kupiec of North Adams, died Oct. 26, 1990, a half-sister, Nellie Perrault; a brother, Loren Guild of Peru, who died Dec. 3, 1976, and by a grandson, Walter Kupiec. At the request of Mrs. Kupiec, there will be no services or calling hours. Cremation took place in Florida. DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, is in charge of local arrangements.
