James J. Brennan

James Joseph Brennan, 49, of 73 Daly Ave. died Sunday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after being stricken at home. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 31, 1952, son of Donald J. and Mary Miller Brennan, he graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1971 and from Williams College in 1975. At the time of his death, Mr. Brennan was a purchasing agent for General Dynamics, where he had been employed for 20 years. He was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and had taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at one time. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He and his wife, the former Margaret Betit, were married June 28, 1975. Besides his wife and parents, of Dalton, he leaves two sons, Matthew C. Brennan of Norwood and Daniel C. Brennan of Dalton; two brothers, City Councilor Mark T. Brennan of Pittsfield and Paul F. Brennan of Windsor, and a sister, Mary M. Brennan of Washington, D.C. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 20, at 10 at St. Agnes' Church, with the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Brennan may be made to the Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 894 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
