Stanley H. Majewski

Stanley H. Majewski, 90, of Linda Lane in Housatonic, died Monday, January 29, 2001 at Timberlyn Heights Nursing Home in Great Barrington. A life long resident of Housatonic, he was born May 8, 1910, one of five children of Thaddeus and Katerina Piaklik Majewski. He attended local schools and then went to work for Monument Mills. During WWII. Mr. Majewski was a member of the State Guard of Massachusetts. A qualified sharp shooter, he was a corporal of the 15th company, 23rd infantry until the end of the war. During this time he worked at General Electric in Pittsfield and then went on to work at the Rising Paper Mill until his retirement in the 1980’s. Mr. Majewski was a communicant of All Saints Church in Housatonic and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a very active craftsman. He married the late Helen Trzcinka on October 23, 1933 at the All Saint’s Church in Housatonic. Mrs. Majewski died in 1997. Mr. Majewski is survived by his three children: Frank J. Majewski of Columbia, Maryland Barbara Louison of Housatonic Christine Williams of Sturbridge, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jane Peace, who died in 1995, three brothers, William, Benjamin, and Joseph Majewski and one sister Wanda Koelmel. Fourteen grandchildren: Ellen Beckwith, Becky Kinhan, Ann Kinne, Christopher Louison, John Louison, Rick Louison. David Peace, James Peace, Sarah Peace, Susanne Stich, Cindi Troiano, Jennifer Williams, Mary Williams. Michael Williams. Twelve greatgrandchildren: Brandon,Danielle, Gina, Julia, Michael, Olivia, Parker, Paul, Samantha, Samuel, Sophia, Stephanie. Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Stanley Majewski will be held Thursday, February 1, 2OOl at the All Saints Church in Housatonic at eleven a.m., celebrated by Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 31, 2001 from four until seven p.m. at the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home. Those who desire, may make contributions to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to All Saint’s Church in care of Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
