Almon K. Lincoln

Almon Kemp Lincoln, 80, of 147 Ridgeway Ave. died yesterday at home. Born in Pittsfield on May 5, 1921, son of Leo and Mabel Wilson Lincoln, he was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1942 graduate of Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. Mr. Lincoln was employed by GE for 37 years, retiring from the ordnance division in 1980 as a subcontract administrator. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, where he served in several capacities, including as president and first reader. He was also a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, collecting coins and walking. He and his wife, the former Lois Woodman, were married Aug. 3, 1946. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Bethany R. Lincoln, Sherida L. Lincoln and Meredith F. McCormick, all of Pittsfield; a son, Craig W. Lincoln of St. Louis; a sister, Daryl E. Marty of East Dennis, and three granddaughters. He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph C. Lincoln. The family will receive friends tomorrow (Tuesday) from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pittsfield or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
