Jane Bishop

Jane Muench Bishop, 65, died Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York following a long illness. Born in Brooklyn on Feb. 6, 1937, daughter of Granger and Dorothy Faist Davenport, she was raised in Montclair, N.J., and attended schools there. She and her family spent summers at their cabin on Indian Lake in the Adirondacks. Mrs. Bishop was employed as a financial secretary for the Rye (N.Y.) Presbyterian Church. Her first husband, Albert Muench Jr. died in 1990. Her husband, the Rev. Joseph Bishop, is interim pastor of the Congregational Church of Southfield. Besides her husband, of Mill River, she leaves two sons, Douglas Muench of Newtown and Glen Muench of Brookfield, Conn.; two brothers, Paul Davenport of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert Davenport of Spring, Texas, and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 30, at 2 at United Church of New Marlboro in Southfield. Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of New Marlboro Building Fund, Southfield, MA 01259.
